Representatives from the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences recently had the opportunity to participate in something truly significant – the Inaugural Workshop for Capability Enhancement in Combating Weapons of Mass Destruction (C-WMD).
This important event, organized in collaboration with the Government of Romania and the U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), with the support of the Regional Centre for Security Cooperation (RACVIAC), took place from June 11th to 13th, 2025. The workshop gathered C-WMD security experts from numerous regional and wider countries, aiming to strengthen national and regional capacities in responding to contemporary threats arising from the potential development, transfer, and use of weapons of mass destruction.
Participation in this workshop serves as further confirmation that the Vinča Institute is actively engaged in international efforts to enhance CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear) security. It also reaffirms the significance of the Institute's expert knowledge and infrastructure in this crucial domain.
