As part of the activities of the European project P106 – CBRN Tabletop and Field Exercises, Simulations, Training (TEST) to Mitigate Risks, representatives of the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences, Dr. Ivana Perović and Dr. Đurica Katnić, participated in specialized training in Slovakia, held from June 9th to 20th, 2025.
The training, titled "CBRN Planning, Preparation, Implementation and Evaluation of TTX and FX and CBRN-E Security and Safety," as well as an advanced "Train-the-Trainer" course, was organized by the ISEM Institute (International Security and Emergency Management Institute) of the University of Žilina. During the program, participants from more than ten European countries underwent intensive education covering:
- Planning, implementation, and evaluation of tactical (TTX) and field (FX) CBRN exercises,
- Inter-agency cooperation among various services,
- Crisis communication in CBRN incident scenarios,
- Security and safety procedures in operations involving chemical, biological, radiological, and explosive (CBRN-E) threats,
- Practical simulations and group work on realistic scenarios.
Dr. Ivana Perović and Dr. Đurica Katnić acquired new skills. They received certificates in CBRN security and safety, which further strengthened the capacity of the Center for Exercise Organization, Training, and Crisis Response at both national and regional levels.
This activity represents an important step towards positioning the Vinča Institute as a regional training center for CBRN courses, as well as enhancing cooperation with international partners in the fields of civil protection and emergency management.
