At the invitation of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), the national organization under the Korean government responsible for trade and investment promotion, the Director of the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences, along with his associates, attended the 46th International Exhibition on Environmental Technology & Green Energy, held in Seoul.
This year's exhibition featured 285 participating companies from around the world, showcasing their advanced ecological technologies and significant ventures. It also provided an opportunity to gather information and ideas about the future of the green industry through various seminars and conferences. On this occasion, several B2B meetings were organized for the Institute's management, including discussions with companies such as Daewoo E&C, SsangYong, Lightbridge, and other Korean firms.
During their visit to Korea, the Institute's delegation also had the opportunity to visit Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP), the country's largest electricity generation company, which produces approximately 32.76% of the country's total electricity. A very constructive meeting was held with the management of KHNP, during which they presented their hydrogen production and the operations of the largest nuclear power plant in Busan, located on Korea's east coast. This facility is considered the second-largest power plant in the world, fully operational with all its reactors since 2016. It is owned and operated by Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, and all reactors on site are pressurized water reactors.
On this occasion, Director Dr. Dimović extended an invitation for a KHNP delegation to visit Serbia.
He emphasized that innovation in the field of energy is an area where the Vinča Institute and KHNP aim to establish strong cooperation.
