žana Bošković was born in Belgrad. She graduated from Belgrade University at Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy in 1965. Since that time till 1967 she had been working at Electronic Industry, Belgrade. She has been working in the Institute of Nuclear Sciences Vinča, in Materials Science Laboratory, since 1967. Masters degree she got from the University of Niš, Faculty of Electronics in 1971.The title of her Masters thesis is Oxygen Partial Pressure Effect on Sintering of Non-stoichimetric Nickel Oxide. She was awarded the Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship 1975. As Humboldt fellow, she spent from 1975 till 1977 at Max-Planck Institute, Materials Science Laboratory, Stuttgart, doing her PhD under the title Sintering of Ceramics on the basis of Si3N4 . She got her PhD from Belgrade University in 1979 at Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy.S.Bosković was awarded Annual Award of the Materials Science Institute in 1988. In 1990. she was awarded by Materials Science Institute for fundamental reasearch in the field of non-oxides.
She was the representative of Yugoslavia in 1989 , at bilateral Meeting EC –Yugoslavia, in the filed of non-oxides. In 1990. she was invited by European Parliament, Strasbough, to represent Yugoslavia, in the field of materials science. Dr. Boskovic was scientific expert of Federal Government of Yugoslavia in the field of materials.
S.Bosković was more than 10 times invited to give the lecture, mainly out of country, and was referee of papers in scientific journals, and books. Her papers are widely citated in the literature.
The fields of interest are, oxide and non-oxide ceramic materials, powder synthesis, solid state sintering as well as sintering in a presence of liquid phase, phase equilibria, phase transformations, microstructure tayloring, mechanochemistry, solid state chemical reactions –mechanisms and kinetics, properties, thermal analyses.
She was principal and co-principal investigator with German and USA bilateral projetcs, respectively.
In 1988. she was awarded the second time Humboldt Fellowship, at Max-Planck Institute, Stuttgart, Germany. In 1999. she was guest scien
tist at Max-Planck Institute, Stuttgart, Germany. In 2000. S.Bošković spent as a Humboldt fellow, for the third time in Germany. In 2000. and 2002. she was invited a guest scientist at Queens University, Kingston, Canada.Since 2000. she has been a head of Scientific council of the Institute of Nuclear Sciences Vinca.
